Aung San Suu Kyi, to be released soon

Aung San Suu Kyi, to be released soon
Let the wind of freedom blow… Let the people breath liberty
The Military Generals in Myanmar finally agreed to release Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader of National League for Democracy who is fighting an unending battle with military rule with much hesitation, while the international pressure increasing. Last few decades she has been under severe house arrest and gone through harsh human rights denial. The landslide victory of Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy in 1990 has been snatched away by the military.
The news about the release of the democratic leader raises the anticipation of the democratic soul of the humanity. This is the right time to declare our solidarity with Aung San Suu Kyi and the people of Myanmar. All who stands for democracy should raise their voice for democratic rule in our neighboring country.
The release of the leader alone should not be the limit. The people of Myanmar have to go many more miles to have government of the people for the people and by the people.
At this crucial juncture India as the largest democratic country in the world should break the silence and speak out. We should not forget the responsibility as we advancing towards progress. India should make a policy on Myanmar on the basis of the values we exist. “The economic growth without freedom is similar to poverty and slavery.”
